After winning in the primary election on May 20, 2014 Bell County Jailer Gary Ferguson won in the general election on November 4th, 2014 and officially took office on January 1, 2015. Gary has experience at all four levels of law enforcement. He began his law enforcement career as a police officer with Pineville Police City Police Department, worked with the Bell County Sheriff’s Department, the Kentucky State Police and worked with the United States Marshal Service. Along with 20 years experience in business management, Gary owned and operated a communications business in the London, Kentucky area for over 15 years. He was also trained as an EMT. As a Kentucky State Trooper Gary was trained as Hazardous Materials Coordinator for KSP Post 10. He was trained as Point in riot control situations. Gary was selected from 1,500 State Police personnel as one of only seven Honor Guard members and was also selected to serve on numerous Governors Special Details. He also served for several years on the Oral Interview Board to hire KSP cadets. Gary brings with him a wealth of knowledge in the areas of business and public service.
